It presumably was going to print out 4 identical black copies (I stopped it partway through the second copy as soon as I could see it was just as black as the first copy).
When I saw this I was worried that it might print out 4 copies each in a different color (i.e., one copy in cyan, one copy in magenta, one copy in yellow, and one copy in black), but it didn't. I will try that later.Įdit: Okay, I tried it with 100% CMYK and it works fine, with one caveat: for some reason, the Postscript file it generates wants to print out 4 pages instead of 1. If I were printing a film positive rather than a test print on plain paper, I would use 100% CMYK, and I assume you would select 45 lpi and 22.5° for all 4 colors. To keep things simple for the test, I made the color of the graphic simply black (0% CMY, 100% K).
You can't change the dot shape here, but the Default Halftone is round. For Mode select Separations (Host-Based), then change the frequency of black to 45 lpi and the angle to 22.5°.
